You're right, after the morning wade, I head to the deeper water and there is always a ton of boats there. I don't have a trolling motor, let me ask a followup question to make sure I understand what you are saying. If there is an incoming tide, I want to drift the east side of Hannas, and vice versa. I want to stay a cast & half (approx ~ 150') from other boats. When drifting, I haven't run into another boat, but certainly I come well within ~150' close enough to ask if they have had any luck. No one has cussed me out yet, is this okay, because I'm drifting, or they are polite? What it the protocol? Do the PVC poles mark the edge of the reef, or anything other than current? Again, thanks for the advice.
I don't have a GPS # I just use the main one that is posted on the Hotspot map. The problem w/ Hanna'a is there are so many boats anchored. What I do is I usually will drift the down current side after a morning wade, then slowly move further onto the reef upcurrent. A lot of the boats have already left & you will see more slicks late AM. If I see a slick or bait fish I will drift it & use my trolling motor to jockey around the anchored boats at least a long cast & a half away. Most of the stationary big fish will be on the down current side of any humps you see on a fish finder. The PVC poles will tell you which way the current is moving. We will use heavier lead heads to keep our plastic on the bottom. If there is a lot of bait activity I will throw a topwater or a mirror lure. Keep your eyes peeled for bird or slick activity just off the reefs also. A lot of times a good school of fish will move off the reef to stay w/ shrimp pods or bait schools.
: Hope this helps

: : I have not had very good luck fishing Hannas Reef, can someone give me some GPS points and some advice how to catch trout there? I prefer to throw artifical baits.
