Mounting brackets are made to bolt on sailboats and other craft for mounting auxiliary motors up to 20 HP. They are usually called “kicker brackets” and most fold up, lifting the motor clear of the water. You have probably seen them and not noticed. Many large outboard or stern drive craft will have a small spare engine bolted to the corner of the transom so the owner won’t have to walk back when he breaks down in the middle of the lake. Prices range from less than $100 to more than $250.
