First, just a little info about how we operate our forum and reports board (there is some script specific info a bit further down the page) .
Yes, on the main page it does say "No Rules" ... but there really HAVE to be a few guidelines nonetheless - here are what we try to maintain:
This is a family oriented site, so please keep your language CLEAN. I know that different people have different ideas as to what constitutes "foul language" ... I like to go by an adage Sam told me once ... it goes something like this: "if you think a preacher would not want his 8 year old to see it, then don't post it!!". In other words, if in doubt, do not use that word .. there are always "cleaner" ways to say it!!
Although some discussion of beach access issues and fishing regulations takes place, we keep the forum free of "real" political discussions. We will not tolerate anyone intentionally demeaning someone else, or the "flame" jobs that take place on many forums. If you want to do that sort of thing, please go elsewhere to do so. You may see some rib poking between those who know each other well ... please do not misinterpret this and take offense if the person it's aimed at does not!!
Posting advertisements is not acceptable use, and these will likely be removed without notification at the discretion of the board moderators.
Please reserve the reports board FOR reports ... post anything not specifically a report (or pertaining to one) on the general discussion board. Items posted to the reports board that do not belong there will probably be removed without notification.
If you want/need to make changes to your profile after you have submitted it, please do not submit a new one. Just email the changes to webmaster@coastalfishing.org and the changes will be made during the next round of profile work that takes place.
Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have about WWWBoard.
Why are the messages indented under each other?
The messages are "threaded" to make it easier to read. Followup messages are indented as responses to the original message responded to.
Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?
No. You can not use HTML tags in any field except body of the message. The maintainer of the script has the option of allowing or disallowing any HTML in the Message part of your posting. If they disallow it, the script will just throw out everything in <>'s. If they allow it, your html markup will appear in the posting. It can't hurt to try.
Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a followup?
Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to followup up on a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document. The owner of the WWWBoard can decide whether they wish to enable or disable the quoting of previous messages.
Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and it should then appear.
Where can I get the scripts for this program?
The scripts are written in Perl and created by Matt Wright. They are free to anyone who wishes to use them and you can get them as well as other scripts at: http://worldwidemart.com/scripts/. Enjoy!
